Danube Symphony Orchestra

The Danube Symphony Orchestra was established in 1961 in Budapest.
The orchestra’s  repertoire is very broad,  from Baroque music to 20th century music including contemporary compositions as well.
The orchestra is located in the heart of Budapest. The Danube Symphony Orchestra is the resident ensemble at the  Danube Palace. The orchestra has approximately 80 concerts in a season. They perform regularly in Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy as well.
The orchestra’s musicians are all professional musicians, and most of them graduated from  the Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest.
The Danube Orchestra has been  for many years the practice orchestra for conductors at  the Liszt Academy of Music.   
The orchestra is  a member of the Association of Hungarian Symphony Orchestras.
Their Artistic Director is Ferenc Szklenár.
